WAM YOUTH….. because We All Matter…..
We have a special relationship with WAM. The Co-Founder and Director of WAM is Gemma Madle who is a member of Encounter Church.
WAM’s offices are based in the church house next door to us on Gretton Road, but they are an independent charity reaching out to young people supporting and developing their emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Encounter Church has a Youth Club called ELEV8 which is run for us by WAM trained Youth workers who are assisted by some of our volunteers.
WAM’s Vision – to see our communities transformed through practical Christian love so that young people are free to be themselves, confident in their own identity and value.
WAM’s Mission – to support young people in developing their emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing, encouraging them to recognise their gifts and talents and to use them actively in their communities
W.A.M. runs a mentoring programme and also provides Holiday clubs, Kids cafes, Wilderness Club and other groups and activities including TOE which stands for Therapeutic Outdoor Education Programme which launched in Spring 2016. They provide individual or small group sessions for young people in woodland areas offering a therapeutic space for young people to participate in woodland and bushcraft experiences. WAM have just purchased their own piece of woodland locally to enable them to build on the outdoor activities they can offer.
Find out more about them from the WAM website where you can also donate through their PayPal link
